LNG is an abbreviation for liquefied natural gas, and LNG tanker is referred to as Cryogenic Lng Tanker Truck.

1. Under atmospheric pressure, the boiling point of LNG is around 162 °C. At this low temperature, the LNG vapor density is greater than the ambient air. Usually LNG is stored as a boiling liquid in an insulated storage tank, and any heat introduced into the LNG Storage Tank will cause a certain amount of liquid to evaporate into a gas. Generally, the evaporation gas contains 20% N2 and 80% CH4 and a trace amount of C2H6. When the evaporation temperature is lower than -113 ° C, the composition is almost pure CH temperature rise to -85 ° C or CH contains about 20%, in both cases, the evaporation gas density is greater than air. Under standard conditions, the evaporative gas density is only 60% of the air.

2. The density of liquid and gaseous density is about 600 times that of a large volume of liquefied natural gas, that is, 1 volume of LNG can be converted into 600 volumes of gas.

3, with flammability under normal environmental conditions, natural gas and air mixed cloud, natural gas content in the range of 5% to 15% (volume fraction) can cause fire, the lowest flammable lower limit (LEL) is 4%. The natural gas in the free cloud is in a low-speed combustion state, and the pressure formed in the cloud cluster is lower than 5 kPa, and generally does not cause a great explosion hazard. However, if the surrounding space is limited, there may be a high pressure wave inside the cloud.
